Our Story
I started winemaking back in 2002
after successfully completing specialist wine making and wine processing courses in Melbourne, Victoria over 6 years. Also became experienced working with local wineries re pruning and canopy behaviour wine making.
Yes, I did the pressing of the grapes
with my feet!! I used a paint stirrer connected to a drill to finish it off… yuck it was a pink colour with me taking my sample to school for my teacher to try as it was one of our many assignments. Crushing grapes with my feet is not a practice we continue with today but it was a lot of fun!

I remember clearly as there were 44 students
in my class from all walks of life that didn’t like their current position or job and dreamed of being a wine maker one day. Not me, l was there for fun or just a hobby with all the class laughing at my sample of wine and seeing my teacher facial expressions trying my wine. He actually said; not bad.
I stayed at school for nearly six years completing every assignment they gave me, spending hundreds of hours of my own time completing all the Modules outside on my alfresco area from 8am till dinner time most weekends. I’ve got probably over 100 books or Modules with 90% having a Gold Start on them as I got really hooked and I enjoyed the passion and challenge.
Over the six years
we did everything from building a Vineyard, canopy styles, and irrigation types, air operated pruning, grape picking and pressing the fruit in an air bag variable tank.
I've been making wine now for 20 years
learning something new every day with some challenging experiences and a lot or rewarding experiences like my the many weddings I have supplied wines to, both red and white, and I got a standing ovation from the 80+ guests in attendance… great feeling!
